Words in The Guardian

Alright blog crew,

I hope you are well. The suns been creeping out here and there, a sign that brighter times are coming.

I've had an incredible week, I sorted myself out a weeks placement at The Guardian Guide. I love The Guardian on a saturday (and all week to be fair) and always read the Guide first. It was a real honour to work there this week. Learning from so many seasoned pros and actually getting to write for the paper, I am chuffed and really proud of myself.

With any luck, similar things are going to come up in the future,

Peace out, I hope your dreams are coming true too....

Who are they?

Hello again dear blog reader,
You look good and you smell good, you can come back! ;)

Now I shall introduce you to the team here at Catch 22, we are the October cohort. Here to make a difference to UK media, here to be the eyes and ears of the future of journalism, because its changing massively, and we're the ones who are online savvy and living this 'web 2.0' lifestyle as they call it. Lets do it!

So the Catch 22 team, at the helm, our first lady, the wonderful Sharon. She is the answerer of questions, the giver of information, the organizer of the events, the leader of the pack, the main woman!

There's so much love there that today she even brought us biscuits. Deep.

And the main man, the Obama, the leader, the big man, creator, founder and director, Tokunbo Ajasa-Oluwa, you can call him Tokes, if he likes you.

Then there's us, we the October cohort.

Me, Amy:

I do music and gays.

Dani:

She is lovely, German and does sport.

Noona:

She likes to party hard and does fashion.

JJ:

He does music. And makes massively un PC comments about all men being cheats.

Selena:

She does being fabulous, and God.

We are a mixed bunch, we cover alot of stuff between us. Together we make up what will be the next edition of Catch 22 magazine. Our journey has been quite intense, alot of us are working full time and studying full time hand in hand.

I look forward to seeing all my Catch 22 friends doing really exciting things with their lives in journalism and beyond.

Thank you Tokes and Sharon for the opportunity, we will make you proud.

Peace out for now reader, I'll keep you posted on the ins and outs of my progression through the course and our articles in the magazine and beyond.

Thank you again for reading this and sharing in the experience. If you are interested in doing the course I recommend it highly, the opportunity is like a golden ticket into journalism. Particularly if you're not from an obvious media/privileged background like us lot.

Over and out for now,

Amo xx :)

Who Am I?

Hi, i'm Amy. Thanks for stopping by. You look great today by the way, have you done something new with your hair?

I'm here to tell you about my experience working on a London based magazine called Catch 22, its good, you should check it out: http://www.catch22mag.com/

I'm starting my career as a print journalist. I already work as a radio presenter and producer for the BBC. I mainly work on the specialist music programmes at Radio 1 like Annie Mac, Kissy Sell Out and Rob da Bank. And at 1Xtra Trevor Nelson and Gemma and Rampage. I present a weekly radio show and podcasts with my best friend Susan. http://amyandsusan.blogspot.com/

Girl gives me jokes all the time!

I love music and dancing. I will always be the last one on the dancefloor. I run a club night, last time i was DJing and dancing still at 4.30 in the morning and I said to my friend 'i'm gonna keep playing til they kick us out', he reminded me that it was my night...wah!!
